| Since the start of the pandemic, Canadians are dying at a much higher rate than ever before of accidental apparent opioid toxicity – usually it’s methamphetamines and cocaine laced with fentanyl. This is a 66% increase from pre-pandemic numbers and this epidemic is only growing. Today on the podcast we speak with Geoff Banks whose story is nothing shy of a miracle. Geoff grew up with all the makings of an amazing life but chose the world of drug dealing and drug use to find his identity and fulfillment. Through the help of friends and family Geoff candidly shares how he realized it was either stopping his destructive lifestyle or death and through rehab he found Jesus and a new identity and freedom. We also hear from Jim and Julie Innes who share their tragic loss of their beautiful daughter Jay-Lyn to an accidental overdose with fentanyl at 21 years-old – after she went down a dark path with the wrong group of friends. They share their story of loss and their new purpose to help families navigate this difficult road.
